·· UPDATES ··

July 30, 2010 - PFC is just a week away and that week is going to fly for all of us.  I just wanted to remind you to pack fly spray, fly sheet and OFF (for the horses, too!).  The mosquitoes are hungry since the cows haven't been in there to knock the grass down; the upside is there is plenty of grazing for the ponies.

Remember to bring a coat for you and your horse.  The temps can drop to the mid 30's at night.  It is hard to remember to bring a coat when you are packing in 100° weather but as soon as that sun goes down you'll be scrambling for a jacket. The high temps will probably be around 85°.

We will have Teddy with Running Bear Tack with her gigantic store on wheels, as well as Susan Favro with Healthy As A Horse  at ride camp to catch up on your shopping needs.  I have my shopping list ready!

Teddy/Running Bear has graciously sponsored Hi-Vet for the LD's and 50's this year!  THANK YOU, Teddy!!

Healthy As A Horse is sponsoring last 5 on the 50 and a Pink Pancake breakfast for everyone at ride camp on Friday morning.

Trail update...with the rains and the USFS doing a little road work there is a little more rock on parts of the trail this year, not much, but if you are running barefoot...just a heads up to pack a pair of boots with you just in case.

We will be leaving for ride camp early in the week so if you need us, call and leave a message.  Linda is already squatting on her plot of land so she won't be getting any more emails.

See you all at ride camp!

Sally

P.S.  Here is another option for your family to enjoy while you are on the trail...Kelly's Whitewater Park in Cascade (about 5 miles North on Hwy 55 from ride camp).

July 26, 2010 -
Wow, the ride is sneaking up fast!  Linda is up marking trail right now.  There are only a few trees down that the boys get to cut up with their chainsaws this year.

Remember to pre-register.  We really need your pre-entries to assure you'll get dinner!

Qdoba is catering dinner on Friday night with steak or chicken Naked Burritos.  YUMMY!!

Chef Bill Bivens will be bbq'ing up a mean burger on a charcoal grill for us on Saturday night.  He'll be making his world famous Dutch oven beans too.  The "dining room" will be open around 4:30pm so you can come eat when you are hungry on Saturday evening.

Chad Larsen will be available to help anyone with their Renegade Hoof Boots or to help you glue on your Glue-Ons.  He will have a good stock of boot sizes and colors with him to purchase, as well.  If you need a special size or have any questions, please call Chad at 435-592-5149 ahead of time.

Renegade Hoof Boots is donating 4 pairs of Renegade Hoof Boots to the ride.  Chad will fit your horse at the ride.

Keep checking back for more updates!

Thank you for pre-registering!!

Sally

January 18, 2010 - We have been sanctioned for August 7 & 8, 2010.  2010 Ride Flyer and Registration have been uploaded for 2010.  Remember to pre-register before July 23 or the ride fees will increase to $100/day (from $85/day).  We won't cash your check until after the ride and all entries are fully refundable if "stuff" happens.  We understand, but we need a head count for food and awards.

The 50 mile rides will be AHA sanctioned.  We are working on the paper work now.

Ride smart - ride both days, any horse, any distance and win a blanket/sheet for your horse!
